Why you need to OWN your house plan.

If you copy a builders plan – that’s copyright breach.

OWNING YOUR OWN PLAN

We’ve all walked through display homes, looked at lots of different house plans and picked our favourite. Problem is our favourite plan is not necessarily from our favourite builder. So, what if you take your favourite plan from one builder to your favourite builder? You could be in breach of copyright and not only can your builder get sued, so can you. So think carefully before you copy someone’s design.

``As a GVD Plan Hub customer you won't have to worry about any copyright issues``.

WITH GVD PLAN HUB YOU OWN YOUR PLAN

All of our designs are created by GVD Plan Hub, with no association with any builder. Our library of  home designs are tailored to suit local construction conditions and designed to suit the typical land development site sizes.  Once a design is chosen it can be purchased directly from the web site and includes a set of plans that can be used to construct the home. The purchaser is then the owner of the plans and they can be used to obtain quotes from a chosen builder or, a number of builders. It’s your choice.

THE BIG ADVANTAGE TO YOU

As the owner of the plan you can talk to any builders of your choice. There are no copyright issues and you are not forced to build with any one builder.

If the Builder has supplied the plan or had something designed for you it is a breach of copyright to take that plan to another builder and have it costed and built. In the instance both parties have breached copyright and are subject to possible legal action.

BEST PRACTICE

Purchase a plan from GVD PLAN HUB or have a plan designed by a Building Designer. As the purchaser of a design you have the right to build your home with any builder on your site.
